Sleeping Beauty

She woke up from her nap after only being asleep for 30 minutes, came downstairs and went back to sleep for an hour.  She's been a grump lately, so I'm not sure what her deal is.
In other news: Jo's toe is going to be fine, the nail will most likely fall off.
I have vacuumed and shampooed the basement carpets 5 times in the last 4 weeks.  Cat pee is the worst.  On a positive note, I have super clean carpets that didn't need to be cleaned, but have gotten lots of extra attention.  I am hoping this final cleaning does the trick.
Today is the day to clean curtains.
I failed the glucose test for the first time in 6 pregnancies.  I am quite bummed.

Brown County State Park

Right before leaving to take Ally to piano, Josey picked up a gallon of apple juice and dropped it on her toe.  Matt made a call to the Dr. to see what they wanted to do.  The wanted to wait until Monday to see her.  So we continued on with our day and just kept flip flops on Jo when she was not being carried.  The park was beautiful.  The walk was fun.
Jo is a bit too big now for this particular carrier.
Lucy helped mommy be the caboose and we went slow.
 Ally was our trailblazer.
Ben was just fine letting Ally lead.
The girl did not want her picture taken, so she closed her eyes.

No, she's not sleeping, just hiding from the camera.

Attitude

Little Miss is FULL of attitude.
Part of that is her trying to go #2 with a camera in her face.
We see this "stink face" too often.

Luckily though, she shares this cute smile with us the rest of the time.

I am so glad they have each other.
They are best buds.

A morning with the girls

Jo and Lu love to draw and color.  It is usually their first choice when I ask them what they want to do after we drop Ben and Ally at school.

Crazy hair/crazy kids

Jo was adamant that her picture not be taken.

We love to see her with a book in hand.

A weekend at Grandpa and Grandma's

These were the pictures I remembered to take.  Saturday we played outside a lot.
Sunday we went to a lunch at Grandma Lich's church and they had a nice program for her since she is retiring.  The kids were dressed up, but that wasn't going to stop them from playing outside when we got back to Grandma and Grandpa's.  We had a fun weekend and the mommy and daddy are exhausted.

Ally's dresser

My mom found this quite dated in paint colors dresser/shelf for $7 at a garage sale.
We were in need of one for Ally.  I have been nesting horribly this time around and this was a great way for me to unleash part of my nesting desires.
It was a lot more work than I probably should have been doing, but I wanted it done.
So I sanded and had Matt do a bit of sanding.
I primed...primed some more and primed 1 last time for good measure.
I painted 3-4 coats and was tired.

I think it turned out quite cute.
I still need to move more of her stuff onto the dresser, but 1 thing at a time.

A rough night with a tough girl

She has officially figured out how to climb out of the crib at lightning speed.
I thought I had resolved part of the problem with a gate in the doorway.
She proceeded to shut the door and lock it.  After 5 frustrating minutes of talking her through unlocking her door, I gave up with trying to get her to unlock the door.  If she wants out, she'll figure it out.  Then she figured out how to flip herself over this gate, that she didn't know how to climb over before last night.  Mommy was exhausted and daddy was at church.  The double gate went into effect and that's when she let out shrieks, screams and cries that were ever so ear piercing.  Matt ended up coming home and taking over so I could go to bed (I had spent 2 hours dealing with bedtime and this crazy 2 yr old.)  At 1:30am I heard her climb her gate and start her decent down the stairs.  I woke Matt up and started to move Lucy to her bed.  Handed her off to Matt, so I could deal with a little girl that just wanted her mommy.   The girl is relentless in her requests for chocolate milk.  She asks for it so politely and in such a nice voice, but turns into a broken record when you keep telling her "no".
Finally she gave up the fight of asking for it and crashed in our bed.  My friend is letting me borrow a sleep sack made for a big kid and we'll see if that does the trick for keeping her in her crib or at least in her room.
