Indiana State Fair

The girls LOVE animals. Cosette has a thing for horses and when we went to the fair last week, she was asleep for all the animal barns. This time, we made sure she was awake.
Llama
baby cows
goat
I saw a girl with her llama and asked Ally if she wanted to pet it, and she said yes. So I got her out of the stroller and then had to coax her into petting it. The llama was very soft and Ally ended up warming up to the idea.
We also got to pet this black llama.
Ally was able to brush a cow.
And talk to a sheep.

We had a great time at the fair and can't wait to go back next year. It just continues to get more and more fun, the older the girls get. We love the food, animals, and all the fun booths. I found that you can go to the fairs website and they will tell you where the best food deals are. The first time we went to the fair, I was listening in on a conversation as I was getting my lemonade shake up and learned that I can get a refill if I buy the large. So I bought the large (like I was planning to do) and brought my cup back with me when we went the 2nd time.

Thursday night at the zoo

For 6 weeks during the summer on Thursday nights, they have the zoo open for 3 extra hours and they have a different ride every week that is free for members. This week was the train and next week is the carousel. Ally loves trains and was excited to ride the train. We rode it 3 times in a row.

2008 Olympics

Are you addicted? I am. I absolutely love watching the olympics. Unfortunately, I have to stay up until 1 am to watch the events I like. I think I'll be okay though, it's only for a few more days and the summer olympics only come around every 4 years. I like to watch swimming, gymnastics, diving, beach volleyball, softball, and in that order. Matt has a class that lasts for just this week, so he's been trying to do homework every night, while I watch the olympics. Sorry for the distraction Matt.

A morning at the park

I thought today was the perfect morning for the park. The weather was great and we had the park to ourselves. The girls had a great time.
Cosette found she really likes crawling in the tubes.

Ally thought she'd be brave and climb up to the big slide. She ended up climbing back down because she got scared.
I love this picture of her.

I like how this picture shows how close the girls are, they are like this all the time. They love hanging on each other and playing together. Cosette does have her moments when Ally wants to love on her and she DOES NOT want to be touched.
Ally also got up the courage to walk across this to go down a big tube slide. I think she thought it was worth it because she ended up going down the slide 4 times.
She has to concentrate so she doesn't fall.
Here she is at the end of the slide.
Cosette really liked that I let her explore the park on her own.
Going down!!
She is so excited to be at the park.
It is almost impossible to get them both to look at me.

Dressing up & the state fair

Ally thought she'd dress up in my shoes and her cowgirl hat.
Ally was really excited about getting in here and then she started pushing buttons. One of the buttons honks the horn and it scared her, this is just after she pushed the button.
She was asking me to get her out.

Our little bruiser

Cosette has been a walking accident lately. So I shared pictures of her black eye a week or 2 ago. Well, now she has a few scrapes in between her eyes. When she gets upset, she throws herself forward and when she did this the other day, she had checkers (the large ones) in front of her. Yesterday we were at my moms house and she cut her finger REALLY good on a table. My sister is re-doing a table my mom had that was glass. She put stained glass on it and is just trying to figure out what color of grout she wants to use, but in the mean time, it is sharp on some parts of the glass. Cosette had just reached up there and very easily cut it and didn't even notice. I spent an hour and a half getting it to stop gushing. I was THIS close to taking her to the doctor, but we were at my moms house because the satelite man was there, so we couldn't leave. Anyways...last night, we got home from my moms house and Cosette was sitting on the floor and Matt set her sippy cup in front of her on the floor and she got mad and threw herself forward and the spout part of the cup took a chunk from her little gums. So we had some more blood lose. I am writing about all this because I need to remember where all of the scars came from when she asks me.

Watching the rain

I was going to let the girls go outside on the front porch and watch the big thunderstorm, but I decided against it, just in case some hail decided to descend upon us. They had fun watching it from inside, but would've preferred to be outside.
They thought it was neat to watch as cars went by and splashed through the puddles with their cars.
I couldn't get Ally to stand still, so here's a blurry picture.
Cosette. I think she is finally starting to feel better, after a long week of teething with 4 teeth coming in. 2 of them did come through and the other 2 are taking their time.

Muncie Childrens Museum

yesterday the girls and I met kim, grandma horn, great grandma horn, and grandma lich for lunch and the museum. we had a fun time at lunch and then headed over to the museum for a little exercise fun. i remember going to this museum when i was like 7 or 8 and it was located on a different street in a small building. they now have it in a bigger building and have added lots to it. it was perfect for ally because she was able to do just about everything. at the indianapolis childrens museum it seems they try to have exhibits for every age group. the girls had a great time and slept the whole way home. thanks everyone for a great afternoon. we should do this more often.
cosette and grandma horn
you can't see her, but great grandma horn is in the drivers seat of the semi.
this is a picture of the museum from the second floor. sorry it's so dark, i'm thinking either we need to get a new camera, or i need to learn how to fix the dark pictures.

this is THE ant crawl. i remember doing this when we came. i came here on a field trip in elementary and had so much fun. kim and i found that once you hit puberty, this is really not made for you. we made it work though and had fun trying to squeeze our way to the top.
aunt kim, ally, and great grandma lich fishing
kim and ally showing off their fish
grandma horn and cosette exploring the museum
they had this big tub and it had turtles and fish in it
cosette and grandma horn playing in the toddler section
they had a life size train and ally LOVED it
she is really into trains right now, they also had a bunch of small trains that were enclosed in glass, so little hands can't derail them as they go by
you can push the buttons and it makes real train sounds, very fun
the water table, it wasn't that cool though
