Patience is a virtue-I'm sure glad I'm patient

This morning, Ally and I got going early. We got dressed, Ally ate breakfast, and we started out the door with Ben in the baby bjorn. The neighbor 2 houses down, was having a garage sale and has good stuff every year. We got Ally 2 barbie tennis rackets (so she doesn't use ours as baseball bats in her attempt to play tennis), a step stool, and a "Jessie hat" (toy story 2). We came home and then our neighbor came over and said she was going over and asked if I wanted to go with her. She said she could help me carry things home if I needed help. Well, they had a wet/dry vac that I was interested in, but didn't pursue it earlier because of my lack of arms. So we got our shoes back on, put Ben back in the bjorn, grabbed the keys, and my wallet, and out the door we went. We got the vac and 2 of my neighbors carried it home for me. I went to get the keys out of my pocket and that's when I realized my BIG mistake. I had grabbed the wrong set of keys. I had grabbed the spare set of van keys, that doesn't have a house key on it. I also didn't have my cell phone or the diaper bag. I went to find the spare key and couldn't get it to work. So I flipped Ally's carseat around, adjusted the straps to fit Ben (thank goodness Ally is still in the convertible carseat) and buckled Ally in next to him. We drove over to my moms house so I could call her to see what I should do. I borrowed my brothers cell phone, borrowed my moms carseat that she uses for Ally, and off we went to get Matts house key. I called and left him a message. He ended up having a LONG 2 hour meeting. So the kids and I got to drive all around the VA in search of a parking spot. We ended up getting a key from Matt. I realized early on in this disaster that the only way to make things go smoothly was to remain calm and be patient. I didn't have the diaper bag and had used all of the diapers I keep in the van, when we were on vacation. I found a size 5 diaper from Ally, that I put on Ben. My mom was working downtown so we met up with her while we were waiting for Matt to call us. She had a few snacks that Ally enjoyed. Hopefully tomorrow I don't make the same mistake and grab the wrong keys.

Sounds like something I would do....except in my case, Chris would be out of town!! Glad you guys were able to get it worked out.

I got your message on my blog today. I am wishing you didn't have to hit that awful 6 month marker. I know it is a hard one. I am thinking about you and hoping that you are doing ok. I am also thinking about sweet Cosette. I remember the times you would come VT-ing and she would be playing with the baby toys or in the play room with Chloe and Ally. I just loved her curly hair! What a doll. I am so sorry you have to be away from her. Hang in there and let me know if you need anything.
