For journaling purposes: yesterday Ben was playing with the cans of food and picked up a can of baked beans and it slipped out of his hands and landed on his right big toe. He started crying and limping. I got him tylenol and tried holding him down with ice on his toe. I called the pediatrician and they said to bring him right in. Luckily my mom was home, so she came right over and stayed with the girls. The dr. had to drain his toe. Ben cried. The nurse soaked his toe to get the draining stuff out and done. Ben whined. The nurse wrapped his foot. Ben just wanted mommy to hold him and to go home. So that's what we did.
The girls also loved playing with the cans of food. Ally still does. I try to leave the door to the food closet closed, but that doesn't always happen. I've told the kids they need to be careful so they don't drop them on their toes. This was just one of those things that was going to happen at some point to one of the kids. Ben is fine now. As soon as we got home he was back to climbing on top of the table, getting into things on the counter with help from a step stool and finding mischief at the computer. See back to himself and just fine.
