Last day with cousin Dylan

My Aunt, Uncle and cousin came out for my sister's wedding.
The kids had a blast with him.  Ally and Ben were bummed to see him leave.
Ally enjoyed having a cousin her age.  Ben liked having a bigger boy to play with.
It's a bummer we have to live so far away.

Childrens Museum

Sometimes I am right on top of the picture taking thing, but this was not my day.
The 1 and only picture I took.

Such sweet faces...almost

She has such a sweet smile.

But being almost 2, that smile can disappear rather fast.

Changes

I have made some changes to the blog...can you tell that I've added anything new?
Please comment and let me know that you saw the changes that have been made, thanks.

Just another thing in my day!

I have been making a very feeble attempt at potty training Jo.  Which means, she gets the whole idea, just wants to make sure mommy knows whose in charge (obviously not me).  Instead of Jo doing anything on the potty, she has been taking all sorts of things "potty".  I found play food floating in the potty the other day, luckily she hadn't flushed it because it would've clogged it.  I questioned her about it and she said "food potty mom".  Duh, why didn't I think of that?  I saved a doll from taking a swim in the potty.  Today a little stuffed doggy wasn't so lucky.  Luckily though it was only 1 of his feet that got wet and it was a clean potty and clean water.  If the bathroom door is open, it is free game for Jo.  Unfortunately Lucy can't open the main bath door very fast, so  I try to keep it open for last minute potty stops, which means I have to keep an eye/ear open for splashing toilet water.  Oh the joys!

I'm gonna pinch your cheeks

and give you a wet kiss...just because I am the baby and you'll let me.

Loves her some Diego.
Ally had her 7 year check up yesterday.
Guess what?  The doctor thinks she's going to be tall!  Duh!  She is wearing a size 3 in shoes (mommy wears a 7 1/2).  She is almost as tall as mommy (I know, not much of a challenge there).
Reading her American Girl magazine and wearing her new dress from Grandma Julie.

Cooling off

The kids had fun playing in the sprinkler.
I set it up so they could even ride their bikes through it.

Matt and I should sit down sometime when we have a quiet night and start writing about Miss Independent/Smarty Pants.  Boy does she keep us on our toes ALL. DAY.
Her language skills are phenomenal compared with her age.  She is constantly asking questions and trying to figure out how things go together and work.  She loves buckles- helmet strap buckles, carseat buckles, stroller buckles..you get the idea.
 I love these rolls!

Outside living it up

We got Ben's big kid bike out the other day for the first time and he loves it.
He calls it his "dirt bike", not sure why.
But he asks to ride his bike everyday now.
The first night we got it out for him, we took the kids to the park and he and daddy struggled with pedaling on the way to the park.  On the way home, he had it figured out and was off chasing after Ally.

 Miss Attitude
I should write about Miss Attitude sometime...maybe on the next day I have all to myself!!

Haha Mommy

Josey saw my "to-do" list on the table and promptly climbed up there and said "I have mommy's list, haha".  Then she started writing on it and then she told me I need to "get busy mom".  Thanks for making extra work for me Jo!

My sweet boy.  By the way, you will see this shirt and a blue pair of shorts on Ben quite a bit, it's his favorite outfit.

Happy Birthday Ally

For her birthday date she chose Orange Leaf and Monkey Joes.
I think she had fun.

Hot day

We had a crazy Wednesday and ended it on a great note.
We exhausted the kids (and ourselves) at the splash park.

In usual Josey fashion, she wanted nothing to do with our current activity until the last 20 minutes we were there.
Daddy was kind enough to show the kids how to turn the sprinklers.
 She thought this was hilarious.
 Getting a drink.
Last few hours of being 6 years old.
