Ally's 5th grade concert

Ally has loved just about every minute of her 6 years at this school.
Her friends are amazing and her teachers we have loved.
She has excelled and blossomed into our beautiful tween.
Her siblings look up to her for good reason.  Her teachers enjoy having her in class.
I know she's going to be missed next year.

She had her 5th grade breakfast and awards a few days ago.  She received so many awards to show just how hard she has worked.  At the awards she had 430 AR points, so she was awarded most AR points in 5th grade. She has straight A's and is so excited.

2 State Parks in 1 day

We started our day of exploring at Charlestown State Park.

We walked across the bridge to Rose Island.  It was neat to imagine what some of the buildings would have looked like and how exciting the atmosphere must've felt.

Right next to the Ohio River.

After a picnic lunch, we drove to Clifty Falls State Park.
This is definitely a must return to.  The kids had fun, but I think we were all ready to be done at this point.
Behind them is the Big Clifty Falls.
From here, we drove towards home and stopped at the Nike outlet and got Briggs a new pair of shoes (he calls them hikees).  Then we fed the crew at Applebees (the kids all had free kids meal coupons from school). It was a great day and fun to explore new parks in our beautiful state.

Sweet Lucy

As I was quizzing Ally on spelling words tonight (I thought the other 4 were asleep) Lucy came in and shyly said she had something she needed to tell me. She said she was feeling awful about it while she was laying in bed, so she prayed.  Then she still felt bad, so she prayed again.  Then she felt like she was suppose to tell me. After a bit of prodding, she told me that earlier in the evening, she broke Brigham's golf club on accident.  She went on to tell me how it happened and that she LOVED his golf clubs and wants a set of her own.  She was so sad that she broke it.  I thanked her for telling me.  I had no idea it was broken, but probably would have been informed of it in the morning.  I told her for now I can tape it.
I LOVE that she prayed about her problem.  She is such a sweet girl and truly wants to do the right thing.  She is always making sure I am proud of her and is so sad when she makes a mistake.
I didn't want to forget this sweet moment, so I'm sharing it with you!
