The girls

We just wanted to let you know Matt that we love you!
We hope you are having a good day at work.
I have been having so much fun doing Ally's hair. This is how I did her hair on Friday and I thought it turned out very cute. I did 3 french braids yesterday for church and that turned out very nice as well.

Nap time trouble

I had put the girls down for their nap and decided to blog and in the midst of my blogging, I heard a lot of giggling. So I peeked into their room to find them BOTH in the crib. Ally had emptied both of their drawers of shoes into the crib, all of their sheets and blankets for their beds and she found a new bath rug in the hallway that she threw in there too, oh and anything else that had been on the floor was now in the crib. It really was quite a site to walk in to.

A fun and memorable weekend

It started off with us going up to spend the night with Matt's parents. We went to a Joe Nichols concert and had lots of fun. Ally got a balloon and Matt got an elephant ear. Saturday we got to eat at one of our favorite restaurants for breakfast and that afternoon we went to a friends wedding. The memorable part comes during the quiet part of the wedding. Of course the girls were getting to the point were they couldn't sit still without making noise, so Matt took Cosette and stood in the back of the room with her. A minute later I ended up back there with Ally. We then switched kids and Ally wanted to look out the window, so she moved the curtain over and THE. WHOLE. THING. CAME. CRASHING. DOWN. ON. MATT. Luckily it didn't make a lot of noise, so we were hoping not many people saw what happened. More people noticed than we thought, oh well. I guess they could have been running up and down the aisle during the ceremony.
So we had a good weekend and the girls had a good time. Yesterday we had a fun day and ended it at my mom's house eating elephant ears that she made from scratch (YUM!).

Camping, rowing a boat, and playing with Grandpa & Grandma

Last weekend we went to Chain O' Lakes State Park and went camping with Matt's parents. We had a great time and the weather was nice for camping too. The girls did pretty well sleeping outside (in a camper). The next morning we took Ally on a rowboat. Matt really wanted to canoe, but then took into consideration the flip factor (Ally would want to move around and a rowboat is less likely to flip over). We had a good time. Ally ended up falling asleep towards the end. Matt did a fabulous job rowing us around the lake.
While we were out on the lake, Cosette got to play with Grandma & Grandpa.

Cosette's eye and Ally videos

Her eye is slowly getting better.

The first video here is of Ally dancing. She LOVES to dance naked and with her underwear on. Once in awhile I can get her to really dance with clothes on.
The second video is of Ally singing. Sorry it is so dark, I didn't want to ruin the moment by turning the light on. She was holding a childrens songbook and singing from it.

Bruiser

So Saturday night, after we had gotten home from camping, the girls were playing and next thing we know, Cosette took a fall. She fell into the ottoman, but a flat spot, not a corner or a hard spot. She hit it just right, so she got a nice black eye. These pictures are taken the next morning before church. The right side of her face was swollen and puffy. You can't tell it hurt her though.
Cosette is always happy and Ally is super cheesy!!

I found this fun website on girls hair and it has given me all sorts of fun ideas for Ally's hair.

Milk

When we were out in Logan, we went to this place called Gossner Foods. They have milk in "juice boxes". We bought 5 cases with 27 boxes in each case. It is so awesome. The cool thing about this milk is that you can leave it out at room temperature. It stays good for up to a year (they have used by dates on them, so it could be less). So this is great for food storage. They offer the milk in flavors (root beer, orange creame, strawberry, cookies & cream, chocolate, vanilla) and they have the regular whole milk, 2%, 1% and skim. They also have whipping cream and cheese, and just about everything else you think you might find at a dairy store. Who knows when we'll be going back to Logan, but when we do we'll definetely be stopping by there to stock up on more yummy milk.

My flower garden

I absolutely love sunflowers. Right now I have 2 that have bloomed and 2 more that are working on blooming.

Matt thought this flower looked cool.

Happy 27th Birthday Matt

We celebrated Matt & Tara's (my sister). Matt is now 27 and Tara is 24.
Matt's birthday was July 4 and Tara's was yesterday.
Ally & Matt
Matt got an IUPUI baseball hat from Tiff & Travis.
He also got the doctrines of salvation book that he has been wanting.
Then he got to blow out the candles on his cake.
And it made the room all smoky.
He is contemplating being 27.

I love you Matt! I hope this year is as great as last year. Just think, the next time you have a birthday, you will no longer be a student. Fun to think about, huh!!

Indiana Beach

The day started off raining, so we didn't think we'd be able to do much. It got nice, sunny, and HUMID before noon. We had a great time and can't wait for next year. Ally is tall enough to ride more rides than I am willing to let her. I was looking at the height requirements for rides before we left and was very surprised to see that she could ride certain rides. I don't even think I'll let her ride them next year, she's still too young for some of them.
She LOVED the rides.

Daddy & Ally on the ferris wheel.
Ally on the mini pirate ship. She is the one in the pink hat right above the fake trees. I had a hard time getting a good picture of her. I think on this ride, she might have gotten scared had another kid started to cry, but she watched the reactions of the kids around her and followed them.
This ride, she had just drank 8 oz of milk and so she looked a little concerned/scared/sick at the beginning.

New church dresses from Grandma Horn

I was trying to get a decent picture of the girls and didn't want the goldfish bag in the picture. Cosette had other ideas though.

A Lake Michigan kind of Day

We had a great day to go to the Lake. The water could have been a bit warmer, but it was really nice and relaxing. We had lots of fun.
This is on the pier in St. Joseph.

Cheese
Macho, Macho Man!!
I love you Matt!
Around the town of St. Joseph they have all these fun decorated boats. Two years ago they had bears and I can't remember what they had last year. But they are all different.
South Bend Chocolate Company
They have a 6 layer cake that is awesome. It is almost as good as the "if chocolate were a sin, I'd be burning in hell cake".
As you can see Ally & Matt are both enjoying the cake & ice cream.
I wish I would have gotten more pictures of Cosette because I have so many of Ally when she first went to the Lake.
Ally ended up getting REALLY cold, so she got all bundled up.
And she got burried waist down.

Ally & daddy coming in after rinsing sand off.

4th of July/Matt's birthday

Happy Birthday Matt, Kim, & America!!!
Matt was SO excited about his birthday this year. I kept reminding him that only 3 more birthdays left and he'll be 30!! Which means I have 4 more until then. YIKES!!

Grandma..I just want some cake.
Ally had been waiting for a piece of birthday cake for 24 hours and she was about to explode she was so excited about it.

Drink, please.
Cosette on the hammock with daddy.

Matt got this hammock 2 days before he left Honduras. This was the first time he had ever hung it up and used it.
Matt turned 27 this year and Kim turned 20.
